Overview
01 · What stands out
Partially stacked sensor
Nikon says readout is about 3.5x faster than the Z6II, for bursts up to 120 fps.
02 · What stands out
Pro video in a small body
6K/60p internal N-RAW, 4K/120p and Full HD/240p slow motion.
03 · What stands out
Brightest Z6 viewfinder
A 5760k-dot EVF that Nikon rates at up to 4000 nits.
The Nikon Z6III body is a full-frame hybrid camera for people who shoot fast action, events and serious video. It suits wedding and portrait photographers, wildlife and sports shooters, and filmmakers who want internal RAW video in a compact body. This listing is the body only; you add the Z-mount lens of your choice.
Nikon pairs a 24.5MP partially stacked CMOS sensor with EXPEED 7 and says the Z6III reads out about 3.5x faster than the Z6II. Autofocus on the Z6III recognizes nine subjects, including people, animals, birds and vehicles, and works down to -10 EV. The electronic shutter reaches 1/16,000 s, with up to 20 fps in RAW and up to 120 fps JPEG at about 11MP, plus Pre-Release Capture.
Video on the Z6III includes 6K/60p internal N-RAW, ProRes RAW up to 30p, oversampled 4K up to 120p and Full HD up to 240p. Nikon rates the 5-axis in-body stabilization at up to 8 stops with compatible lenses. The 5760k-dot viewfinder reaches 4000 nits, and the 3.2 in vari-angle touchscreen has 2100k dots.
With the Nikon Z6III body, Nikon lists in the box the EN-EL15c battery, UC-E25 USB cable, HDMI/USB cable clip, AN-DC26 strap, BF-N1 body cap, BS-1 shoe cap and DK-29 eyecup. No lens or wall charger is included; the battery charges in the camera over USB-C. The Z6III has one CFexpress Type B/XQD slot and one UHS-II SD slot, so plan on a CFexpress card for 6K and long high-speed bursts.
Nikon says the magnesium-alloy body has the same dust and drip resistance as its Z8. The Z6III takes all NIKKOR Z lenses and F-mount lenses with the FTZ II adapter, with restrictions on some lenses. See every mirrorless camera we carry.
