It pairs the SC430 four-section legs with the SCH30 ball head. With the center column raised the ProMaster Scout SC430K reaches 70 1/4 in / 178.5 cm, and it folds down to 19 1/4 in / 48.9 cm.
The whole tripod kit weighs 3 lb 7 1/4 oz / 1.57 kg and holds up to 11 lb / 5 kg, enough for a full-frame body with a larger lens. Each leg spreads to several angles on its own, so you can level the camera on uneven ground, and the leg locks work with gloves on.
The two-piece center column splits for ground-level and macro shots and can also be reversed, and a retractable weight hook lets you hang a bag for extra steadiness in wind. The lowest working height of the ProMaster Scout SC430K is 6 1/4 in (15.9 cm).
The SCH30 ball head uses one knob to set tension for panning and tilt, with etched degree marks at the base for precise rotation. It takes ProMaster Dovetail plates, which are Arca-type, and comes with the 2738 quick-release plate, whose safety catch helps prevent accidental drops.
