03 · What stands out

105-450mm on DX

Gives extra reach on APS-C Nikon Z bodies.

The Tamron 70-300mm Nikon Z lens (70-300mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD) is a telephoto zoom for full-frame Nikon Z cameras that stays small enough to carry all day. It reaches from 70mm for portraits and events to 300mm for wildlife, sports and distant details, and on Nikon APS-C (DX) bodies the Tamron 70-300mm gives a 105-450mm equivalent view.

The Tamron 70-300mm uses 15 elements in 10 groups, including LD (Low Dispersion) elements to control color fringing, plus BBAR coating against flare and ghosting. In the Tamron 70-300mm, an RXD stepping motor focuses quickly and quietly, so it suits video as well as stills, and the Nikon Z version supports Hybrid AF, Eye AF, M/A mode and in-camera lens corrections. Minimum focus is 0.8 m (31.5 in) at 70mm and 1.5 m (59.1 in) at 300mm.

The Tamron 70-300mm has no optical stabilization of its own, so it pairs best with a Z body that has in-body stabilization; if yours does not and you shoot handheld in low light, ask us first. The Tamron 70-300mm Nikon Z version weighs 580 g (20.5 oz), is 150.3 mm (5.9 in) long, takes 67mm filters and has moisture-resistant seals.

A round hood and front and rear caps are in the box, and a water-proofed USB Type-C port on the Tamron 70-300mm lets you update firmware with the TAMRON Lens Utility software and a cable sold separately. See every camera lens we carry.
