The Sony 70-350mm G OSS (E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS) is a long telephoto zoom for APS-C E-mount cameras such as the a6700 and ZV-E10 II. On those bodies the Sony 70-350mm frames like a 105–525mm lens, which makes it a practical pick for wildlife, birds, field sports and pulling distant landscape details closer, while weighing about 625 g (22.1 oz).
The Sony 70-350mm belongs to Sony's G lens line. The optical design uses 19 elements in 13 groups, including one aspherical and three ED glass elements, with a seven-blade circular aperture. An XD Linear Motor drives autofocus on the Sony 70-350mm, and Optical SteadyShot steadies handheld shots at long focal lengths. Minimum focus is 1.1–1.5 m (3.61–4.93 ft) with up to 0.23x magnification.
The barrel of the Sony 70-350mm G OSS carries an AF/MF switch, an OSS switch, a customizable focus hold button and a zoom lock that keeps the lens from extending in your bag, and Sony lists a dust and moisture resistant design. The box of the Sony 70-350mm G OSS includes the ALC-SH160 round bayonet hood, a 67mm front cap and the rear cap, and filters screw into the 67mm thread.
The Sony 70-350mm is made for APS-C E-mount bodies; it also mounts on full-frame E-mount cameras, which shoot it in their APS-C crop mode using a smaller part of the sensor. If you mainly shoot indoors in dim light, ask us about a brighter lens. See every camera lens we carry.
