Overview
01 · What stands out
Built for action
Up to 15 fps with the mechanical shutter and up to 30 fps with the electronic shutter.
02 · What stands out
Steady handheld
5-axis in-body stabilization, rated by Canon at up to 7 stops with coordinated control IS.
03 · What stands out
Two card slots
Dual SD slots that take UHS-II cards, for backup or overflow recording.
The Canon EOS R7 is an APS-C mirrorless camera built for speed and reach. The smaller sensor gives every lens a 1.6x crop, so a telephoto frames birds, field sports and motorsport tighter than it would on a full-frame body. This listing is the Canon EOS R7 body only, which suits shooters who already own RF, RF-S or EF lenses, or who want to pick the lens for their own kind of work.
Canon pairs a 32.5 MP APS-C CMOS sensor with the DIGIC X processor. The mechanical shutter of the Canon EOS R7 runs at up to 15 frames per second and the electronic shutter at up to 30, with a RAW burst mode that can record half a second before the shutter is fully pressed. Dual Pixel CMOS AF covers about the whole frame with up to 651 zones and detects people, animals and vehicles.
Sensor-shift stabilization in the Canon EOS R7 works on five axes, and Canon rates it at up to 7 stops when coordinated with a compatible stabilized RF lens. Video on the Canon EOS R7 reaches 4K UHD at up to 60p, with a 4K Fine mode at up to 30p oversampled from 7K, Full HD at up to 120p, 10-bit Canon Log 3 and HDR PQ, so this mirrorless camera handles video work as well as stills.
In the box Canon packs the body, the LP-E6NH battery, the LC-E6 charger, a strap, the battery cover and a shoe cover. You still need a lens and SD cards: the Canon EOS R7 has two SD slots that accept UHS-II cards. It mounts RF and RF-S lenses directly, and EF or EF-S lenses with the Mount Adapter EF-EOS R. Questions
Does the Canon EOS R7 have in-body image stabilization?
Yes. It has 5-axis sensor-shift stabilization. Canon rates it at up to 7 stops when used with compatible RF lenses that have their own IS (coordinated control), and it also steadies lenses without IS.
What video can the EOS R7 record?
Canon lists 4K UHD at up to 60p, a 4K Fine mode at up to 30p oversampled from 7K, and Full HD at up to 120p for slow motion. It also offers Canon Log 3 and 10-bit HDR PQ.
What memory cards does the R7 use?
It has two SD card slots, and both accept SD, SDHC and SDXC cards including UHS-II. Fast UHS-II cards help with long bursts and high bit-rate video.
Can I use EF lenses on the Canon R7?
Yes, with Canon's Mount Adapter EF-EOS R, sold separately. RF and RF-S lenses mount directly; EF-M lenses are not compatible.
