Overview
01 · What stands out
Built-in stand
Folds out to set the camera on a table and tilt it for high or low angles.
02 · What stands out
1-inch sensor
A back-illuminated 1-inch CMOS for cleaner video than most phones in dim light.
03 · What stands out
Pocket size
About 63 x 90 x 34 mm and 211 g with a card, per Canon.
The Canon PowerShot V10 is a small, upright vlog camera that you run with one hand, much like a phone. A stand folds out of the back so you can set it on a table and tilt it up or down, and the screen flips up so you can see yourself while you talk. The PowerShot V10 suits first-time vloggers, live streamers, creators filming tutorials or food, and anyone who wants a dedicated camera that is quicker than a phone.
Canon pairs a 1-inch back-illuminated CMOS sensor with the DIGIC X processor and a fixed 19mm-equivalent F2.8 lens for video (18mm for stills). The PowerShot V10 records 4K UHD up to 30p and Full HD up to 60p, with clips up to about one hour. Stills come out at about 15.2 MP.
There is no optical zoom or optical IS: steadiness comes from Movie Digital IS, which crops the frame slightly, or Auto Level. Face detection keeps people in focus, an automatic 3-stop ND filter helps in bright light, and two stereo microphones with a third mic for noise reduction handle sound on the PowerShot V10.
In the box are the camera, a USB-C interface cable and a wrist strap. The battery is built in and charges over USB-C, so add a microSD card (UHS-I) and, if you want, an external microphone through the 3.5mm jack. The PowerShot V10 also works as a USB webcam in Full HD at 30p and can stream to YouTube Live or Facebook Live through the Canon Camera Connect app. This listing is the black Canon PowerShot V10.
