This ProMaster Sony E-mount body cap closes the lens mount of Sony E-mount cameras, full-frame or APS-C, so dust and dirt stay out of the body while the camera is stored or packed without a lens. With the lens off, the mount and the inside of the camera are open to dust.
ProMaster sizes the Sony E-mount body cap for the Sony E bayonet, and it attaches the way a lens does. One Sony E body cap fits both full-frame and APS-C E-mount bodies, and it makes a handy spare if the original cap is lost. ProMaster marks it as ABS plastic inside the cap.
Fit the Sony E-mount body cap as soon as the lens comes off, with the mount pointing down while you swap, and wipe the inside of it now and then so it stays clean. It is small and light, so a spare is easy to keep with a second body in your camera bag.

Does it fit both full-frame and APS-C Sony cameras?
Yes, as long as the camera has the Sony E-mount. Sony uses the same E-mount on its full-frame and APS-C mirrorless bodies.
Does a body cap fit on the back of a lens?
No. For the lens, use a rear lens cap for the same mount. ProMaster makes one for Sony E too (item 7739).
Can I store the camera with only this cap on?
