The Traxxas Slash 4X4 Brushless is a 1/10 scale, fully assembled and waterproof RC short course truck. Its Velineon V3200 3200 Kv brushless motor and VX3 speed control run on a 2-cell or 3-cell LiPo: the Slash 4X4 does 35+ mph on 2-cell and 50+ mph on 3-cell, with no gearing change.
Shaft-driven 4WD with a torque-biasing center drive, oil-filled steel-gear differentials and Maxx-Duty driveshafts handles that power. A low center-of-gravity chassis, composite GTR shocks, an aerodynamic clipless body and replica Kumho tires on split-spoke wheels keep the Slash 4X4 stable at speed. The TQi Sport 2.4 GHz radio includes Traxxas Stability Management (TSM).
The battery and charger are sold separately: Traxxas lists the 3S LiPo Completer Pack (2970-3S) for this truck. You also add four AA batteries for the transmitter. The VX3 speed control does not support NiMH, so plan on a LiPo for the Slash 4X4.

Tips
- Use only LiPo batteries: the VX3 speed control does not support NiMH.
- Charge LiPo batteries on a hard, non-flammable surface and never leave them charging alone.

Traxxas rates it at 35+ mph on a 2-cell LiPo and 50+ mph on a 3-cell LiPo, with no gearing change.
Does the Slash 4X4 Brushless come with a battery?
No. The battery and charger are sold separately. It takes one 2-cell or 3-cell LiPo; the Traxxas 3S LiPo Completer Pack (2970-3S) is listed by Traxxas for it.
Is the Slash 4X4 waterproof?
Traxxas sells it as waterproof, with a waterproof VX3 speed control and 2057 servo. Dry it after wet runs.
Can I use a NiMH battery in the Slash 4X4 Brushless?
No. Traxxas says the VX3 speed control supports 2-cell and 3-cell LiPo batteries only.
Is the Slash 4X4 Brushless a good first RC truck?
Traxxas rates it Skill Level 1, its easiest. The VX3 speed control has a Training Mode with 50% forward and 50% reverse power, and TSM helps it hold a line on loose ground. You still add a LiPo battery and a charger.
